Brighton is a long stretch of soft white sand just north of Bridgetown, running south into Brandon's Beach. The sea is usually calm with small waves. There's a lifeguard, toilets, beach security and chairs to hire, and operators rent out jet skis and kayaks. Stade's rum distillery, founded in 1893 and the island's only distillery on the sand, runs a beach club where a day ticket covers a lounger, umbrella, showers and lockers along with rum tastings.

Mornings here belong to the horses. Local stables run beach rides from Brighton that finish with a swim alongside your horse, and horses are allowed to exercise and bathe along this stretch in the morning. As the nearest beach to the cruise terminal, it fills up when several ships are in. Keep away from the warm-water outflow from the power station at the northern end, known locally as the hot pot, where the currents are strong.
