Kaiso sits right on the sand on Barbados' West Coast, in St. James, with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms arranged for easy indoor-outdoor living and ocean views from the main spaces. Three of the bedrooms are upstairs, each with its own en-suite bathroom, while a fourth en-suite bedroom sits on the ground floor for anyone who would rather skip the stairs. The open-plan living and dining area is light-filled and leads straight out to a private pool deck facing the beach, with a mix of shaded and sun-filled spots to sit. Outside, the villa has its own swimming pool with an integrated jacuzzi looking out over the sea, both heated, with the pool 3ft to 6ft deep and the jacuzzi 3ft deep. A shaded gazebo seats up to 16 guests and works well for dinners outdoors. The beach itself is a few steps away, good for swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling. For guests who want to keep up a routine, Kaiso has an exercise studio that doubles as a pool house, with free weights up to 15 pounds, a gym bench, yoga mats and blocks, plus its own bathroom so there is no need to go back into the main house after a swim. For time in the water, the villa keeps 8 pairs of reef shoes, 6 snorkels, 5 pool noodles, 2 boogie boards, 6 goggles, 12 scuba masks and 1 ball on hand. On the security side, there is an alarm system, an intercom connecting both villas, exterior cameras, security bars on all downstairs windows, smart entry locks on the front doors, a JBL Bluetooth speaker, one large in-room safe in the master bedroom and panic buttons placed around the villa. Worth knowing before you go: the beach in front of the property shifts naturally over the course of the year, though the sea directly out front stays reef-protected year-round, which makes it a good spot for snorkelling and watching marine life. If you would rather wade on a sandy bottom, it is a short walk along the beach in either direction to find calmer, clear water.
