St. Lawrence Beach

Shallow bay at the entrance to St. Lawrence Gap, good for wading, reef snorkelling and dinner by the water

Also called St. Lawrence Bay or Little Bay, this beach sits at the entrance to St. Lawrence Gap, the south coast's restaurant and nightlife strip. At low tide the water is very shallow, so non-swimmers and small children can wade a long way out and still be standing. A reef shelters the bay, and the rock formations along it hold plenty of tropical fish for snorkellers.

It is usually breezy, with small to medium waves, which brings out windsurfers, kayakers and kitesurfers. Sea turtles visit often and sometimes surface right in front of the waterfront restaurants. A short boardwalk runs along the water, and the restaurants that line the bay are at their best in the evening. Beachcombers do well for shells here.
