Consett Bay Beach
Working fishing bay below cliffs in St. John: fresh fish on the shore and a quiet east-coast picnic spot

Consett (or Conset) Bay is a sheltered cove in St. John, framed by steep cliffs and green hills, with Conset Point at its edge. It is a working fishing bay first. Brightly painted boats ride at anchor, a small fish market on the shore sells the day's catch, and anglers cast from the jetty. It was once among the island's biggest fish landing sites. You will find no hotels here, just a quiet beach for picnics and beachcombing for sea fans, shells and driftwood.
The water is often calmer than elsewhere on the east coast, but swimming is generally not advised. There is boat traffic, and some days bring waves and strong undertow, so if you do go in, stay where you can stand. The road down is steep and winding. Codrington College, St. Mark's Church and Bath Beach are all within about a mile.
