Beachy Head
A quiet cliff-backed cove next to Ginger Bay for sunbathing and picnics, not for swimming.

Beachy Head is a small, secluded beach under the cliffs on the south-east coast of St Philip, the next cove along from Ginger Bay; a spur of cliff running onto the sand divides the two. It has pink-white sand, trees moving in the breeze and Atlantic waves rolling in.
At low tide you can walk along the shore from Crane Beach to Ginger Bay and on to Beachy Head. There are no toilets, showers or food, so bring what you need. Like most beaches on this coast it has an undertow and strong currents, so it's a place for sunbathing and picnics rather than swimming.

Good to know
Beachy Head: questions
- Is Beachy Head good for swimming?
- Our guide rates the sea at Beachy Head as usually rough, with strong waves and currents, so it is not a beach we suggest for young children to swim at.
