Waverly House is a coral stone villa on Gibbs Beach in St. Peter, built in the traditional Barbadian style with large open doorways that bring the bay views into each room. The setting is private, with gardens running through a side gate to the beach itself. Inside, the open-plan living and dining area leads out to a covered verandah set up for dining for six, and on to a plunge pool and deck. Whitewashed wooden ceilings and cool coral walls run through the house, furnished in a Caribbean chic style. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The principal bedroom has its own en-suite and an ocean-front patio, good for morning coffee or a quiet drink before dinner. Bedroom 2 also opens onto an ocean-front patio. The two remaining guest rooms share a bathroom. All bedrooms are air conditioned. Gibbs Beach itself is good for swimming and snorkelling, and offers a quiet stretch of coast away from the crowds, while Speightstown and Holetown are both within easy reach for cafes, restaurants and local and international shops.
