Waterside 303 sits on the second floor of the Waterside development in Paynes Bay, on Barbados's West Coast, and takes in views out over the sea from its open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, which opens onto a terrace facing the water. Both of the 2 bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom and private closet space, so there is no sharing and no queuing in the morning. The apartment is finished with coral-rendered walls and white silk ceilings in the bedrooms, coral cornicing to every room, and marble tiled floors and skirting throughout, with marble wall tiling in the bathrooms and Vitreous China suites fitted with chrome taps and fittings. Wash basins sit on marble vanities with a mirrored cabinet and GFCI socket above. Meranti hardwood doors, window frames and architraves run through the apartment, with glazed doors leading onto the private terrace, which is laid in travertine tile. Air conditioning units and ceiling fans cool the living areas and bedrooms, and the hardwood wardrobes have louvred doors. Extractor fans serve the bathrooms, shower rooms, cloakrooms and kitchen, and cable TV, telephone and broadband connections are all ready to use. The kitchen is open plan, with hardwood floor and wall units and a peninsula or island breakfast bar onto the living area, black granite worktops and upstands, and a stainless-steel sink with a mixer and spray tap plus waste disposal. There is a stainless-steel dishwasher, a multi-function stainless-steel oven with a black glass electric hob, a built-in microwave, and a glass and stainless-steel extractor hood. An American-style stainless-steel fridge-freezer has chilled water and an ice dispenser, and a washing machine and vented tumble dryer are fitted in the utility area. Day to day, the apartment also comes with high-speed WIFI and a cable TV connection. Waterside is a secure, walled and gated development set back from the main road, which keeps it quiet. Entry is by keypad or remote control, with an intercom linking the gate to phones in the apartment and at the concierge desk, and CCTV cameras feed back to the on-site security office, which also monitors the fire alarm system covering the common areas and car park. The entrance lobby is coral rendered with marble tiled floors, leading to two staircases and Otis lifts that serve every floor, including the car park, so there is no need to carry bags up stairs. Guests have their own space in the underground parking garage, with lift access straight up to the apartment. Outside, the communal pool deck has a designer pool over 30m long with a wide sundeck, free loungers and umbrellas, and mature planting around the edges of the site. On-site equipment is available to guests at no extra charge. Holetown, with its supermarkets, banks, duty-free shops and restaurants ranging from simple to smart, is about 5 minutes north of the development. Water sports can be reached within a few minutes on foot, and several golf courses are a short drive away. The Cliff restaurant is a short walk from the apartment, Daphne's is closer still, and the Sandy Lane Hotel is a comfortable stroll up the beach.
