Tradewinds sits within Sandy Lane Estate, St. James, a five-bedroom house built around a pool that works as the real centre of the property. The ground floor of the villa wraps around the pool, with a pagoda to one side and a separate dining pavilion for meals outdoors. Guests tend to split their time between swimming, sitting in the pagoda, and eating in the pavilion rather than staying inside. A covered terrace leads from the main house into a formal living room with high ceilings, a light colour scheme, and a wide wall that opens straight onto the outdoor space, so the room reads as an extension of the terrace rather than a separate space. The kitchen is fitted with high-end appliances and sleek finishes, though guests are not expected to cook for themselves: a chef and a housekeeper are provided as part of the stay, handling meals and the upkeep of the house. There is also an indoor media room for films or music, useful on evenings when the group wants to stay in rather than head down to the beach or the estate's tennis courts, both of which are available to guests. Of the five bedrooms, four are on the ground floor with direct access to the outdoors, while the master bedroom takes up the whole of the top floor and has two balconies, one on each side. Every bedroom has a king bed and its own en suite bathroom finished with high-end fixtures and materials, and the house has 5.5 bathrooms in total. West Coast beaches are a short distance away, and staying at Tradewinds gives guests access to the Sandy Lane Estate Beach Club, including its private cabana, tennis courts and golf course. The cabana comes with its own fridge and freezer, with food and drinks and watersports and storage also available there. A private golf cart is provided for the short trip down to the club, though it is for use only to and from the Beach Club and only for drivers over 18. Waterfront restaurants, boutiques, duty-free shops and beach bars are also near the estate. No pets are permitted, and smoking is restricted to outdoor areas only.
