Old Trees 12 – Sea Breeze is an end of row apartment at Old Trees, also known as Old Trees 204, set right on Paynes Bay, St. James, with the Caribbean Sea just a few steps from the door. From the living and dining room, and from the principal bedroom, the view runs out over tropical gardens to the sea beyond, and it changes with the light through the day. The building sits on the beachfront, and Old Trees was designed around that position, so sea breezes move through it constantly, keeping the apartment cool without much need for air conditioning. Inside, the layout is open plan, with a fully equipped kitchen opening straight into generous living and dining areas. The finishes are worth a mention: large marble slab floors, high ceilings, spotlights, coral mouldings and arched doorways run throughout, giving the place a settled, well-built feel rather than a dressed-up one. There are 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. All three bedrooms are en-suite, each with ample wardrobe space, so there is no competing for storage. The principal suite goes further, with a Jacuzzi bath, a rain shower, and French doors that open onto a private terrace, a good spot for morning coffee away from the rest of the apartment. Outside, guests have the use of a free-form swimming pool set among tropical gardens. Paynes Bay Beach starts just beyond those gardens, laid out with sun loungers and umbrellas, and it is known locally for swimming with turtles. It is also a short stroll from The Sandy Lane Hotel & Beach, one bay to the north. The West Coast's restaurants, nightlife and shops are only minutes away, which makes Old Trees a workable base whether the days are spent on the sand or out and about.
