Footprints sits right on Alleynes Bay Beach, on the west-facing Platinum Coast at Porters, St James. It is worth knowing that some building work on a neighbouring property may cause disruption from time to time, so it is worth checking the dates before you book. The main house is a boxy, contemporary structure with several storeys of balconies, terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows that open straight onto the water. It holds 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms across roughly 6,500 sq. ft. of covered living space, including a 1,300 sq. ft. elevated principal suite with uninterrupted views to the horizon. Footprints can also be taken together with Footprints North Cottage or Footprints South Cottage, which between them bring the total to 8 bedrooms and sleep up to 16 guests. Inside, the look is neutral and calm, built around white and tan tones that let the greens of the garden and the blues of the sea do the talking. Natural wood floors, roll-arm sofas and organic touches such as coral pieces and a leaf-shaped pendant light keep it feeling warm rather than stark. The kitchen carries the same palette, all white with sleek flat-fronted cabinets and a farmhouse-style table doing double duty as a breakfast bar. Each of the 5 bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom and air conditioning, and most open onto a balcony or terrace, so you get the sound of the sea at night and the breeze first thing. The same restrained colours and natural textures carry through the bedrooms. There is also an air-conditioned fitness room and media room, and the villa's staff are included in the stay. Footprints is a short stroll from the Lone Star restaurant, about 1 mile from the beach at Reeds Bay and 2 miles from Sandy Lane Beach. Golfers have Royal Westmoreland Golf Course just over 2 miles off and the Sandy Lane Country Club course at 3.5 miles. Holetown is 1.5 miles away, Speightstown 4 miles and Bridgetown 10 miles, all worth an afternoon or evening out. Calendar availability applies to the 5 bedrooms of the main house only; the two cottages are not included in that count.
