Fiddlesticks is a three-bedroom villa in the Sugar Hill development in St. James, with 3.5 bathrooms and a layout built around a pool and a run of outdoor space that does much of the entertaining on its own. The ground floor holds two of the three bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. One opens directly onto the pool deck, so the walk from bed to water takes seconds rather than minutes. The second bedroom mirrors the first in layout but has its own details, and sits close to a small library corner for anyone who likes to read. The kitchen is fitted with a six-burner stove, custom cabinetry and a mix of wood and marble surfaces, with a breakfast nook for everyday meals and a separate dining area, done out in warm coral tones, for when the whole group sits down together. The indoor rooms carry high ceilings and calm, neutral tones throughout, with pool views reaching into several of them, and the outdoor space continues well into the evening for anyone who wants to sit out under the stars. Upstairs, the entire floor is given over to the main bedroom. A large bay window frames views of the west coast beach, and the room is finished in dark wood flooring with sea life artwork on the walls, giving it a settled, tropical feel without being fussy about it. There is a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom of its own, with plenty of natural light coming through during the day. Outside, the pool is built to an abstract shape and sits alongside a covered patio fitted with an outdoor barbecue grill, with lush landscaping around the deck, good for meals outdoors once the sun has gone down. Guests at Fiddlesticks can also use what the Sugar Hill development offers more broadly: a clubhouse, a restaurant, two communal swimming pools and four championship tennis courts, plus complimentary membership to the beach club at the nearby Fairmont Royal Pavilion Hotel.
