Number 10 Claridges sits within a quiet development of 10 villas on two acres of tropically landscaped grounds in Gibbs, on Barbados's Platinum West Coast, a few moments from the secluded white sand of Gibbs Beach. Claridges itself is one of the more exclusive, boutique residential resorts along this stretch of coast. The development was designed by architect Michael Gomes, who brought together coral stone with a touch of Balinese styling, and each villa uses cedar, mahogany, marble, granite and travertine throughout, giving the interiors a natural, contemporary finish. This particular townhouse is spread over 2 storeys and holds 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, done out in calm, personalised decor. It looks over the pool and is wrapped in full foliage that keeps the property private. The covered terrace has its own sun loungers and umbrellas, so meals and sunbathing can both happen outside. Each of the 3 bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom, a King-sized bed, a walk-in wardrobe and a private terrace. One of the two first-floor bedrooms has a King that can be made up as twin beds instead. The first floor also has a den that does double duty as a workspace and a second sitting room, with a pull-out sofa, a printer/fax and a flat screen television. The villa comes with Apple TV, Sonos and wireless internet throughout. As part of the Claridges community, residents can use the large shared swimming pool, which has three waterfalls, along with a gazebo and a beach area for soaking up the sun. Gibbs Beach is a short walk away, as is the Sea Shed restaurant, where sun loungers are available to hire.
