Claridges 1 sits at Gibbs, St. Peter, a 3,000-square-foot house built from Barbadian coral stone with touches of Balinese design running through it. The result is a home that feels both solid and relaxed, with three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and plenty of room to spread out. Each of the three bedrooms is en suite, fitted with a king-sized bed (two of the three can be made up as twins instead), a walk-through wardrobe, and its own terrace or balcony, so everyone has somewhere private to sit outside. The main living area is open-plan and leads straight into a fully equipped kitchen, good for cooking with whatever you pick up locally. From there, the house opens onto a landscaped garden, and a covered terrace gives you a shaded spot for coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. There is also a separate gallery room, set apart from the main living space, for reading or watching a film away from the rest of the house. Outside, guests share use of a swimming pool, with a sun deck, loungers and a gazebo arranged around it for spending the day outdoors. The location is central for this part of the island, within easy reach of Holetown and Speightstown for shopping and restaurants. Gibbs Beach is a short walk away, as is the Sea Shed restaurant, where sun loungers can be hired for the day.
